Coronavirus: 41 new deaths, 7264 cases

Coronavirus: 41 new deaths, 7264 cases

Forty-one more people died from coronavirus and 7,264 newly contracted the virus in the past 24 hours.

With this, the total fatalities and infections rose to 28,744 and 18,94,535 respectively, a health directorate press release on Thursday.

As many as 42,578 samples were collected, and 42,867 tested in the past day.

During the period, 11,046 more patients recovered from the illness, taking the total number of recoveries to 16,44,628.

Bangladesh, however, first reported its coronavirus cases on March 8, 2020. 

The virus first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December 2019 and then it spread to other countries.

To date, the epidemic infected 404,115,675 people and killed 5,797,811 across the globe, according to Worldometer, a website that compiles the number of new coronavirus cases and deaths from it.

However, the total number of people who recovered from the virus reached 324,116,927 across the world.
