A case has been filed against 16 people including the owners of the Seema Oxygen Plant Limited 55 hours after the blast at the plant area at Kadamrasulpur in Sitakunda of Chattogram which left seven people dead.  

Rokeya Begum, wife of a deceased man, filed the case with Sitakunda Police Station over the incident bringing allegation of negligence around 11:45pm on Monday.

Tofael Ahmed, Officer-in-charge of the police station, confirmed the case to Jago News.

Of the accused, the plant owners are Managing Director Mamun Uddin, his brothers Pervez Uddin and Ashraf Uddin.

Earlier, a massive blast occurred at Seema Oxygen Plant in Sitakunda at 4:55pm on Saturday. 

Being informed, eight fire service units rushed to the spot and brought the fire, which broke out after the blast, under control. 

Seven people died so far and 17 others were injured in the incident. The injured are undergoing treatment at Chattogram Medical College Hospital.
