Khulna University student shot dead

A university student was shot and killed by unidentified assailants on Friday night in Khulna.
The victim, Arnab Kumar Sarker (26), an MBA student at Khulna University, was the son of Nitish Kumar Sarker, a resident near Bospura Collegiate School in the city.
The incident took place around 9:00 pm at the Tetultola intersection on KDA Avenue in Khulna city.
Mohammad Ahsan Habib, ADC (Media) of Khulna Metropolitan Police, confirmed the murder to Jago News, stating that an operation is underway to apprehend those responsible. The motive for the killing remains unclear, and no formal complaint has been filed.
According to local sources, Arnab was sitting on a motorcycle, drinking tea at Tetultola intersection when a group of 10-12 assailants on motorcycles arrived, shot him, and quickly fled. Local residents rushed him to Khulna City Medical College Hospital, where he was declared dead by the attending doctor.
The police have secured the crime scene and recovered bullet casings.
Arnab’s father, Nitish Kumar, confirmed his son was a student at Khulna University but could not provide any details regarding the motive for the murder.
Arnab’s friend, Fahim, said, “I heard gunshots at Tetultola intersection and went over to see a crowd gathering. When I saw a helmet on the ground, I realized something had happened to Arnab. We quickly took him to the hospital, but he had already been shot.” Fahim added, “Arnab and I were both studying MBA at Khulna University.”
Shafiqul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sonadanga Model Police Station, told Jago News, “A university student, Arnab Kumar Sarker, was brought to the hospital with gunshot wounds, where he was declared dead. An investigation is underway.”
