5 killed as pickup van crashes into covered van in Ctg

Five people were killed when a pickup van crashed into a covered van in Chattogram early Monday.

The accident occurred around 4:45 am at City Gate in the Akbar Shah area. The Fire Service identified two of the deceased as Akash, 28, and Kala, 22. The identities of the remaining victims have not yet been confirmed.

Md Alamgir Hossain, Deputy Assistant Director of the Chattogram Fire Service and Civil Defense, told Jago News that the pickup van collided with a covered van parked on the side of the road near City Gate, heading towards Chattogram city. Three bodies were recovered at the scene, and five injured individuals were taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital. The bodies were handed over to the police.

OC of Akbar Shah Police Station, Md Arifur Rahman, confirmed that three people died at the scene, while two others were pronounced dead at the hospital.
