Khandakar Jannatul Naim, a Fire Service official, who was injured in a chemical warehouse fire in Gazipur's Tongi, passed away in a Dhaka hospital on Saturday morning, September 27.
Naim, 37, was the warehouse inspector (officer) at the Fire Service and Civil Defence Station, Tongi.
He died around 10:00am while undergoing treatment at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, Talha Bin Jashim, media cell officer at the Fire Service, told Jago News.
About 42 per cent of his body was burnt in the fire, the official said.

With this, a total of four individuals – three firefighters and a shop employee – lost their lives in the fire.
Earlier on September 22, the fire erupted at a chemical warehouse beside Sahara Super Market in Gazipur's Tongi.
Four fire service personnel and three workers sustained burn injuries while trying to douse the blaze.
