AB bank chairman, 2 others resign

M Wahidul Haque, chairman of the board of directors of AB Bank Limited, resigned from his post. 

Apart, Selim Ahmed and Faimidul Haque resigned from the posts of Vice Chairman and Director of the bank respectively. 

The resignation took place at an Annual General Meeting (AGM) at a hotel in the city on Thursday, an official of the bank confirmed the matter to the Jago News.

According to a Bangladesh Bank probe report conducted in October last, the AB Bank's board of directors in December 2013 approved the investment of $20 million in Singapore-based fundraising and investment company Pinnacle Global Fund Pte Ltd through the bank's Offshore Banking Unit.

In February 2014, the OBU allegedly laundered the money to an account at the UAE-based Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank.
