The action-drama ‘Domm’, inspired by a true story, has ignited excitement among audiences even before its release.

Following the release of the teaser, viewers and fans flooded social media with discussions about the film’s gripping sequences, cinematic style, locations, and the story glimpsed in the brief preview.

The hype reached a new peak on Tuesday, March 17, when the trailer was unveiled at a grand event. Its caption read: “Holding your breath at the crossroads of birth and death is hard, letting go is harder! No matter the obstacles, who can stop you if you have Dum?” Director Redwan Rony has promised that the film, set to release on Eid-ul-Fitr, will showcase the strength and resilience of its characters.

The trailer presents the story of Afran Nisho’s character, an expatriate navigating the harsh realities of life. From the intense kabaddi arena to the struggles of daily survival, the story is a test of determination. Puja Cherry captures the emotional depth of separation, while Chanchal Chowdhury appears in a mysterious, enigmatic role.

Audience reactions have been enthusiastic: “Dum cannot be stopped. Dum will intoxicate Eid!” At the trailer launch, Redwan Rony said, “The power of Dum will unfold on screen. We’ve tried to highlight the mental strength of every character. Nisho, Chanchal, and the entire team have worked tirelessly. The experience of shooting in new locations has been incredible, and I hope audiences enjoy it.”

Producer Shahriar Shakil added, “Dum is a film to enjoy with the family. There were challenges with the locations, but we hope viewers will be delighted.” Meanwhile, Afran Nisho shared, “Talking about Dum makes me emotional. I’ve sat with the team countless times discussing the story. Everyone worked hard, and I’ve never played a character like this before. Audiences will not be disappointed.”

The excitement began even before the trailer, with the poster released on March 1 sparking curiosity. The film has also received a ‘U’ grade certificate, making it suitable for family viewing.

Adding to the film’s appeal, legendary singer Sabina Yasmin returns after 44 years to lend her voice to a new rendition of her timeless hit, ‘Ei Mon Tomeke Dimam’. The film’s mahurat featured the rhythmic beats of traditional drums, and shooting spanned Bangladesh, three other countries, and the freezing landscapes of Kazakhstan.

The screenplay was crafted by Redwan Rony, Rabiul Alam Robi, Syed Ahmed Shawki, Al-Amin Hasan Nirjhar, and Md Saifullah Riyad, with Redwan Rony making his debut as a lyricist.

With stellar performances, a gripping storyline, and a touch of musical nostalgia, ‘Domm’ promises to be a must-watch Eid release, leaving audiences eager to uncover the true story behind the action-packed drama.
