Gold price rises by Tk 3,324 per bhori

Gold price in the country has increased once again, with the rate of 22-carat gold rising by Tk 3,324 per bhori (11.664 grams), bringing the new price to Tk 277,428.

The new rates came into effect from 10:00am on Tuesday, March 3, according to the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS). 

A press release, signed by BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring chairman Dr Dewan Aminul Islam Shadhin, was issued in this regard in the morning.

The decision was made following an increase in the price of pure gold in the local market.

This marks the second increase within 24 hours. On Monday, the price of 22-carat gold was raised by Tk 5,424 per bhori to Tk 274,104.

Under the new rates, 21-carat gold increased by Tk 3,091 to Tk 264,773 per bhori and 18-carat gold rose by Tk 2,683 to Tk 226,981 per bhori. Gold produced under the traditional method increased by Tk 2,216 to Tk 185,749 per bhori.

Despite the increase in gold prices, silver rates remain unchanged. 

The price per bhori has been set at Tk 7,173 for 22-carat silver, Tk 6,882 for 21-carat silver, Tk 5,890 for 18-carat silver, and Tk 4,432 for traditional silver.
