The wedding of ViRosh: Rashmika and Vijay turn a fan nickname into forever
After years of whispers, denials and perfectly timed smiles, South cinema’s most talked-about duo have finally made it official. Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda confirmed on Sunday night that they are getting married, ending one of the industry’s longest-running relationship speculations.
In a joint message shared on social media, the couple chose to step into their new chapter with a name gifted by their fans. They announced their wedding under the title “The Wedding of ViRosh” a blend lovingly coined from their names in style of Hollywood’s ‘Brangelina’.
“You were with us before we had any plans. You gave us our name with so much love,” they wrote, thanking fans for standing by them through the years.
For admirers who had followed every hint and hidden detail, the announcement felt less like a surprise and more like a long-awaited confirmation.
A palace affair in Udaipur
The wedding will take place on February 26 in Rajasthan, with celebrations beginning from February 24. The chosen venue is the secluded luxury property ITC Mementos Udaipur, located about 25 kilometres from the city, tucked into the Aravalli hills.
Spread across a hilltop estate with 117 private villas, a river, a lake and even a private helipad, the resort offers complete privacy. The setting reflects the couple’s decision to keep the ceremony intimate and controlled rather than extravagant and public.
Security arrangements are tight. Mobile phones will not be allowed inside the venue. Guests and official photographers are expected to sign confidentiality agreements. An international security team has reportedly been engaged to prevent leaks. The guest list is limited to around 100 people, with only close family and selected friends attending.
Sources say around 50 guests will arrive on commercial flights, and security at Udaipur airport has already been heightened ahead of the celebrations.
Two Families, Two Traditions
Separate rituals will be organised to honour the customs of both families. While details remain under wraps, insiders describe the event as deeply personal rather than a show of glamour.
There are also murmurs of a larger reception in Hyderabad on March 4 for friends from the film industry and select public figures, though no formal announcement has been made yet.
From ‘Geeta Govindam’ to real life
The story began on screen. In 2018’s Geeta Govindam, their chemistry was effortless and electric. Audiences loved the pairing, and social media quickly turned them into a favourite on-screen couple.
They reunited in Dear Comrade, where their intense performances deepened the fascination. What began as cinematic romance soon sparked real-life curiosity.
Over the years, shared vacations, family appearances and coincidental travel plans kept fans guessing. In interviews, both actors stayed careful. They neither confirmed nor denied anything. Even engagement rumours were met with silence.
Now, with one joint statement, the speculation has finally been laid to rest.
A quiet statement in the age of grand weddings
In an era when celebrity weddings often unfold like week-long spectacles, this one stands out for its restraint. No flashy countdowns. No orchestrated leaks. Just a simple note and a carefully planned ceremony away from the spotlight.
For fans, February 26 is more than a wedding date. It marks the official beginning of a love story that moved from cinema screens to real life.
The only thing left now is the moment everyone is waiting for the first official wedding photograph from “ViRosh.”
