286 get GPA-5, 293 pass after failing in SSC results re-evaluation
The re-evaluated results of this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations have been released. Among candidates under the Dhaka Board, 286 students newly achieved a GPA-5 after re-evaluation. Of these, three students improved directly from failing to GPA-5. Additionally, 293 students passed after previously failing.
The results were published around 10 am on Sunday (August 10). Professor SM Kamal Uddin Haider, Controller of Examinations of the Dhaka Education Board, provided this information.
He stated that this year, 92,863 students under the Dhaka Board applied for re-evaluation of 223,664 answer scripts, a significant increase compared to last year. The number of applicants rose by nearly 21,000, and the number of challenged answer scripts increased by about 40,000.
The highest number of re-evaluation requests were for Mathematics, with 42,936 answer scripts challenged, followed by English First and Second Papers with 19,688 each, Physics with 16,233, and Bengali First and Second Papers with 13,558 answer scripts. The lowest number of applications came from Arts and Crafts, with only six answer scripts challenged.
It was also noted that during the re-evaluation process, answer scripts are not re-marked. Instead, examiners verify whether the marks were correctly added, if any questions were missed, or if the marks were accurately recorded on the OMR sheet. Corrected results are then published if necessary.
