Atif Aslam set to rock Dhaka: Pakistani star's long-awaited concert finally locked in

Amid a string of headaches over permissions for foreign artist gigs in the country – think the Pakistani band Kavish landing in Bangladesh only to sit out their show due to venue woes – fans of subcontinental sensation Atif Aslam were sweating bullets.

But hold the drama: the crooner behind hits like Dil Diyan Gallan and Tum Hi Ho is officially en route to Dhaka for a blockbuster bash.

It all kicked off when two rival promoters, 'Spirits of July' and 'Main Stage', both teased Atif's arrival, sparking a flurry of logistical snags that left the whole affair hanging by a thread. Cue the plot twist: the duo has teamed up for the 'Main Stage Show-2025', turning potential fiasco into fan frenzy.

Mark your calendars – Atif takes the stage at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center in Dhaka's Purbachal New Project Town on Saturday, December 13.

In a joint press release dripping with relief, the organisers admitted solo efforts hit a wall thanks to "reality and some complications," but unity is strength. "This is one of the most desired events of the year for Dhaka's youth," they gushed.

Sadequr Rahman Sunny, Publicity Secretary for 'Spirits of July', spilled the tea: “Although we initially planned to organise this concert individually, we have finally decided to organise this concert jointly.

All the necessary permissions have already been obtained from the Ministry of Culture. Finally, the concert is happening.”

Adding a heartfelt twist, 'Spirits of July' pledged 40 per cent of the night's profits to the 'July Shaheed Smriti Foundation' – just like old times.

The cash will fuel the group's ongoing rehab drive for martyrs, the injured, and their families from the July uprising. A formal pact was inked between the promoters and the foundation on November 2.

Of course, Atif's the undisputed headliner, but the lineup's stacked with local firepower: expect Fuad and Nemesis to crank up the energy alongside a roster of homegrown bands and artists.

With tickets poised to vanish faster than a sold-out encore, this could be the feel-good finale Dhaka's music scene desperately needs. Lights, camera, Atif – see you under the stars!
