US bases ‘not strength but greatest vulnerability’: IRGC

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued a scathing statement on Sunday, condemning the US airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities and warning of severe retaliation against US military bases in the region.
The IRGC described the bases as "not a strength but rather a point of vulnerability," signalling potential escalatory actions following what it called Washington's "criminal aggression."
The IRGC's statement characterised the US attacks as a reckless continuation of "past failed follies" in the Middle East, accusing the Trump administration of "strategic incompetence" and ignoring the "realities on the ground."
The paramilitary force claimed the US had "placed itself on the front lines" by targeting Iran's peaceful nuclear installations, asserting that such actions would provoke "regrettable responses" beyond the comprehension of US and Israeli leaders.
"The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is well aware of the terrain of this combined and full-scale imposed war and will never be intimidated by the clamour of Trump and the criminal gang ruling the White House and Tel Aviv," the statement read.
The IRGC emphasised its readiness to exercise its "legitimate right to self-defence," vowing that the US would face "everlasting consequences" for its actions.
The IRGC further revealed that it had identified and was monitoring the flight paths of U.S. aircraft involved in the strikes, which targeted key nuclear sites, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan.
The force dismissed claims of significant damage to Iran's nuclear program, asserting, "Iran’s peaceful nuclear technology cannot be destroyed by any attack."
The statement also accused the US of moral bankruptcy and political instability, warning that "America no longer holds the initiative and cannot escape the repercussions of a forceful Iranian response."
The IRGC's rhetoric underscored its intent to target US military infrastructure, noting that the "number, dispersion, and size" of US bases in the region doubled their exposure to Iranian retaliation.
