Islamic preacher Rafiqul gets bail, no bar to release
The High Court has granted bail to Rafiqul Islam Madani, popularly known as Shishu Bokta (child preacher), in a case filed under the Digital Security Act (DSA).
The HC bench of Justice Mostofa Jaman Islam and Justice Md Aminul Islam passed the order on Wednesday.
He was granted bail on condition of not giving anti-state and provocative statements in future.
Now, there is no legal bar for his release from jail, said his lawyer Ashraf Ali Molla.
Deputy Attorney General Shahin Ahmed Khan appeared on behalf of the state in the court.
Rafiqul was arrested from his own house in Netrakona on April 7 in 2021 over his alleged anti-state and provocative statements. Later, four cases including DSA case were filed with the police stations in Dhaka and Gazipur.
