Martyrs’ families to get financial aid early Feb: Nahid

Information and Broadcasting Adviser Nahid Islam has announced that the families of those who were martyred during the students-led mass uprising will be getting financial support from the beginning of February.

He said this after saying prayers at the graves of martyrs in the uprising at Rayerbazar graveyard in Dhaka on Saturday, January 25, said an Information and Broadcasting Ministry press release.

Nahid said the interim government will always stay beside the martyrs’ families.

He also said the work is underway to trace unidentified martyrs buried at Rayerbazar graveyard.

After vising martyrs’ graves, he talked to their families and relatives and inquired about their condition.

The interim government planned to purchase savings certificate worth Tk 10 lakh for each of the martyr’s families. 

Besides, the government also decided to provide Tk 150 crore for the treatment of those who were injured during the July-August mass uprising.
