BRAC students protest Israeli attacks in Gaza
In protest against the ongoing genocide and destruction caused by Israeli occupation forces in Gaza, students of BRAC University formed a human chain and staged a demonstration as part of the Global Strike for Gaza campaign on Monday.
The protest began at 10:00 am in front of the university's permanent campus in Merul Badda, Dhaka, with the official program starting at 11:00 am.
Participants held placards condemning the actions of the Israeli forces and chanted slogans in solidarity with the Palestinians, calling for an immediate end to the attacks. They also demanded that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu be tried in an international court for genocide and face the maximum punishment.
The students emphasised that the genocide in Gaza must stop immediately and called for Israel to be removed from the world map for its crimes against humanity. They further criticised countries like the United States, which they believe are complicit due to their silence on the matter, and called for their boycott.
The protesters also expressed concern over the support some Muslim countries have shown to the actions of Israel and urged these nations to unite in condemning the violence. Additionally, they called on the Bangladesh government to adopt a stronger stance in favor of the Palestinian cause and to play a more active role in international forums.
