RAB’s intel wing acted as killing force in enforced disappearances: Shafiqul
The intelligence wing of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) functioned as a killing force in cases of enforced disappearances, said Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam during a press briefing at the Foreign Service Academy on Tuesday.
He was presenting findings from a report on enforced disappearances submitted to Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus.
The report details how individuals were forcibly disappeared and, in many cases, killed during the tenure of the ousted Sheikh Hasina government.
The Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances has identified approximately 1,350 cases so far, with new cases emerging daily, Shafiqul noted.
Deputy Press Secretary Abdul Kalam Azad Majumder and Senior Assistant Press Secretary Foyez Ahammad also attended the briefing.
