20 detained in joint operations in Gopalganj

The local administration has reported that, following a day-long clash centering the National Citizen Party’s (NCP) rally in Gopalganj on Wednesday, a curfew has been in effect since nightfall, with joint operations underway, according to a BBC Bangla live update.
Gopalganj Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mir Md Sajedur Rahman confirmed that 20 people have been detained so far during the curfew.
He said the arrests were made during operations conducted from Wednesday night to Thursday morning.
The detainees have been handed over to Gopalganj Sadar Police Station, and cases are being processed against them, the OC added.
He also stated that the law-and-order situation in Gopalganj is currently under control.
