Kerry to visit Dhaka on Aug 29

US Secretary of State John Kerry will be coming to Dhaka on August 29.

Foreign Minister Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali confirmed this matter on Wednesday while talking to journalists after a seminar held at Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies in Dhaka.

All the preparation related to visit is being taken, the minister said.

During his visit, Kerry will meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Mahmood Ali. He will also meet the members of the civil society.

After the July 1 attack, Kerry had phoned Hasina and sent the Assistant Secretary of State for South Asia Nisha Desai Biswal to express Washington’s solidarity with Bangladesh.
