Hizb ut Tahrir member detained at DU

Students of Dhaka University have detained an alleged member of Hizb ut Tahrir Bangladesh from Curzon Hall area and handed him to police.

Professor Dr. Aftab Ali Sheikh, proctor of DU said jagonews24.com students of Chemistry department detained Sultan Ahmed, a second year student of Botany Department of the university during propaganda.

Abu Bakar Siddique, officer-in charge of Shahbag Police Station said a group of students entered into Chemistry department around 8am. In the meantime, students of Chemistry department asked their identities but the group locked into argument with them.

On stage of argument the group tried to flee from the scene. The hosts hunt them and able to detain Sultan.

Later, he was handed over to Shahbag police around 1pm, said the Proctor.
