Govt appoints 15 DCs: 6 transferred, 9 new faces
The government has appointed new Deputy Commissioners (DCs) in 15 districts, including Dhaka, Gazipur, and Khulna. Among them, six officials have been transferred, while nine new faces have been appointed.
The Public Administration Ministry issued a gazette notification in this regard on Saturday (November 8) night. The order, signed by Aminul Islam, Deputy Secretary of the ministry, announced the appointments.
According to the notification, Bagerhat DC Ahmed Kamrul Hasan has been transferred to Noakhali, Kushtia DC Abu Hasnath Mohammad Arifin to Habiganj, Bhola DC Md Azad Zahan to Gazipur, Barguna DC Mohammad Shafiul Alam to Dhaka, Sirajganj DC Muhammad Nazrul Islam to Gaibandha, and Khulna DC Md Taufiqul Rahman to Bogura.
Meanwhile, the newly appointed officials are: Sylhet Zila Parishad Chief Executive Officer Sandwip Kumar Singha as DC of Barguna; Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC) Secretary (Deputy Secretary) Md Aminul Islam as DC of Sirajganj; Private Secretary to the Commerce Adviser Md Abdullah Al Mahmud as DC of Magura; Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs Abu Sayeed as DC of Pirojpur; Zonal Settlement Officer (Pabna) of the Directorate of Land Records and Survey Afroza Akhter as DC of Satkhira; Deputy Director (Deputy Secretary) of the Local Government Department, Feni, Golam Md Baten as DC of Bagerhat; Private Secretary to the Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser (Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology) S. M. Jamshed Khondaker as DC of Khulna; Director of Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK) Md Iqbal Hossain as DC of Kushtia; and Cabinet Division Deputy Secretary Dr. Shamim Rahman as DC of Bhola.
The order takes immediate effect in the public interest, the notification added.
