NCP announces candidates for 125 constituencies
The National Citizen Party (NCP) has announced its primary list of candidates for 125 constituencies for the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election on Wednesday, December 10.
The announcement came during a press conference held at the party’s temporary office in Banglamotor, Dhaka around 11:00 am.
NCP Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain announced the names of the candidates, marking the party’s first major step toward contesting the national polls.
Akhtar said that they are publishing the preliminary list of candidates.
If there are any complaints against those whose names are announced today, they will be investigated, and the candidates’ nominations will be canceled if necessary, he added.
Among the candidates, NCP Convener Nahid Islam is contesting from Dhaka‑11, Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary from Dhaka‑18, Senior Joint Member Secretary Tasnim Jara from Dhaka‑9, Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain from Rangpur‑4, Chief Organiser of the Northern Region Md. Sarjis Alam from Panchagarh‑1, Dr. Md. Abdul Ahad from Dinajpur‑5, Md. Golam Mortuza Selim from Thakurgaon‑3, social activist Russell Ahmed from Lalmonirhat‑2, Dr. Md. Kamrul Islam Dorpon from Nilphamari‑2, Md. Najmul Huda Khan (Rubel Khan) from Chapainawabganj‑2, academic leader Professor S. M. Jarjis Kadir from Natore‑3, women’s activist Monira Sharmin from Naogaon‑5, and cultural and social leader Dyuti Arannya Chowdhury (Preeti) from Sirajganj‑4.
