Tamim among 3 militants killed

At least three militants including Tamim Chowdhury, a mastermind of Gulshan attack, were killed in a drive conducted by Counter Terrorism Unit of Police at graveyard area of Paikpara in Narayanganj.

Two other militant’s identities could not be indentified immediately. 

Faruk Hosen, Additional Superintendent of Police of Narayanganj, confirmed the information to Jagonews24.com.

According to police, some militants were staying on the third floor of one Nuruddin house. Hearing the news, a team of police conducted a drive in the name of ‘operation hit strong 27’ at 9.30am.

Later massive firings have been heard on that area and killed three militants.

Tamim had accompanied the five Holey Artisan Bakery attackers from their Bashundhara flat to Gulshan, Dhaka and left the area after bidding them farewell just before the café siege began on July 1.

The investigators have also found Tamim’s involvement in the Sholakia attack on the July 7 Eid day that left four people, including two constables, an attacker, and a local woman, dead.

Tamim was also the mentor of the group the nine militants, killed in a police operation at Kalyanpur on July 26.
