The lawyer of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia has filed a petition with the High Court (HC) seeking her bail in a case filed for arson attack in Cumilla during the anti-government movement by BNP-led 20-party alliance in 2015.
Khaleda’s lawyer Advocate Masud Rana on Tuesday filed the petition before the bench comprising Justice Shawkat Hossain and Justice Abu Taher Md. Saifur Rahman.
On February 3, 2015, a case was filed with Chauddagram Police Station in Cumilla after seven people were killed and 25 others were injured in a petrol bomb attack on a bus.
On March 2, 2017, the law enforcers submitted the charge sheet of the case to a Comilla court accusing Khaleda and the others.
