Khaleda’s bail extended in Zia Orphanage Trust case

The High court on Wednesday extended the bail time of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia till August 13 in Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case.
The bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mustafizur Rahman passed the order following a petition filed by Khaleda seeking extension of her bail.
Earlier on July 26, the court extended the bail of Khaleda Zia till July 31 in case.
The ACC filed the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case with Ramna Police Station in July 2008, accusing the six of misappropriating over Tk 2.1 crore that came from a foreign bank as grants for orphans.
A Dhaka court on February 8 awarded Khaleda to five-year jail in the graft case. Khaleda, accused in over 34 cases, is currently serving the five-year jail term.
