Govt fooling people in name of development: Fakhrul
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said that the government is fooling people in the name of development.
He said, "In the name of development, this government is fooling people. Awami League's democracy is the democracy of looting, money laundering and killing people."
He made the remark at a warm clothes distribution program in front of Thakurgaon district BNP office on Saturday morning.
About the election, Mirza Fakhrul said, "We want to take part in the election but no participation under Awami League because they don't let anyone vote."
Alleging that AL men themselves cast others' votes, he said, "It will not be allowed in the future. It will be resisted strongly in a peaceful way."
About confining BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in jail, the party secretary general said Haji Selim and casino Samrat get bail and Mofazzal Hossain Maya walks around as a big leader of Awami League after 17 years of imprisonment but the former prime minister is not given bail.
"We will free our chairperson, bring Tarique Rahman back to the country and along with, form people's government," he vowed.
