A court in Dhaka has granted bail to BNP leader Engineer Ishraque Hossain in a case filed for allegedly torching vehicle in the capital's Motijheel area.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Arafatul Rakib passed the order on Sunday after he had surrendered before the court, his lawyer Mohiuddin Chowdhury confirmed.

On April 6, 2022, police arrested Ishraque from Motijheel area during a leaflet distribution program of Sramik Dal protesting the commodity prices hike.

At that time, police said he was apprehended in an old case of torching vehicle.
