Fakhrul lied on voter turnout in by-polls: Quader
Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has told lies about voter turnout in by-elections to six constituencies, which fell vacant after the resignation of BNP MPs.
He, also the road transport and bridges minister, said this in a press release on Friday.
Quader said he (Mirza Fakhrul), presenting an estimate conducted by BNP, said voter turnout in the by-polls was less than 5 percent which is completely baseless and fabricated.
"Mirza Fakhrul told such blatant lies aiming to gain nefarious political purposes," he said, adding, "Actually, more than 25 percent of voters cast their votes in all the by-elections."
