BNP retracts statement on ‘bomb’ attack, regrets
The BNP has backtracked on its earlier claim of a ‘bomb attack’ at the BCS Administration Welfare Association office, apologising for the misinformation.
The retraction came in a statement issued by Joint Office Secretary Taiful Islam Tipu at 7:45pm on Saturday, March 1.
“The statement by BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, claiming one person was killed and another seriously injured in a bomb attack by miscreants, was based on incorrect details,” the release read.
“In reality, no such attack occurred—the casualties stemmed from an AC explosion. The Bangladesh Nationalist Party regrets this unintended error.”
