NCP to hold protest in Dhaka demanding trial of AL
The National Citizen Party (NCP) has called for a protest march demanding a trial of the Awami League following attacks on politicians, including its Member Secretary Akhter Hossen, in New York, and to hold the interim government accountable for its negligence.
The protest march will take place on Tuesday (September 23) at 4:00 pm in front of the National Museum in Shahbagh, the party said in a statement.
The march will be organised by the NCP’s Dhaka North and South units. The party has also directed protests to be held across all districts and upazilas nationwide.
Earlier on Monday afternoon (New York local time), Awami League leaders and activists hurled eggs at Akhter Hossen at the airport. He had arrived as part of the delegation led by Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, who was attending the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
