Fascists’ ally has no right to address parliament: Taher
Terming President Mohammed Shahabuddin an ally of the fascists, Deputy Opposition Leader in the Jatiya Sangsad and Jamaat-e-Islami Nayeb-e-Amir Abdullah Mohammad Taher has said the President has no right to address the parliament.
He made the remark after a meeting of the opposition lawmakers in the parliament on Wednesday afternoon, March 11.
Taher said most opposition lawmakers are new, which is why they were given directives in the meeting on the criteria and character of the parliament, and their role there.
When asked whether Jamaat will accept the deputy speaker post, he said, "We will inform you about this upon receiving the proposal. It will be clear tomorrow."
The Jamaat leader also said, "We think the President has no right to speak in the parliament as he is an ally of the fascists. Why the BNP lets him speak there, we don't know."
"We have made some decisions in this regard and will provide them tomorrow," he added.
