FIFA World Cup trophy lands in Dhaka
As part of its global tour, football’s most prestigious trophy, the FIFA World Cup Trophy, has arrived in Dhaka. The golden trophy reached Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Wednesday (14 January) morning and will be taken to Hotel Radisson.
A special session for selected spectators to view the trophy is scheduled at 2:00 pm, while the general public will have limited opportunities to see it.
Accompanying the trophy is Gilberto Silva, former midfielder of Brazil’s 2002 World Cup-winning team.
The sixth edition of the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola—a joint initiative of the Coca-Cola Company and FIFA—began on 3 January, kicking off with a grand event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup, hosted jointly by Canada, Mexico, and the United States, will be the largest in history, featuring 48 teams, 104 matches, and grand-scale celebrations.
The main FIFA World Cup Trophy will visit 75 destinations across 30 FIFA member countries during the 150-day tour, giving football fans a rare opportunity to see the trophy up close.
