Gold price hits all-time high of Tk 1.47 lakh a bhori
The Bangladesh Jeweler’s Association, BAJUS, has raised the price of 22 carat gold by Tk 2,928 to Tk 1,47,818 per bhori, the highest rise in the country's history till Wednesday, February 5.
The price has been increased following a rise in the price of pure gold in the local market, BAJUS said in a statement today.
Besides, 21-carat gold was hiked by Tk 2,799 to 1,41,099 a bhori (11.664 grams), 18-carat by Tk 2,403 to Tk 1,20,944, and gold of traditional method by Tk 2,053 to Tk 99,529 respectively.
The new prices will come into effect from Thursday, February 6.
Earlier on February 1, the prices of gold were hiked, with 22 carat gold rose by Tk 2,099 to Tk 1,44,890 per bhori.
