Govt to buy one cargo LNG from spot market

The government has approved a proposal in principle for procuring one cargo LNG from the spot market to meet the emergency need for gas.

The approval came from the ninth meeting of the Advisory Council Committee on Economic Affairs this year held at the Cabinet Division Conference Room at the Secretariat in Dhaka on Wednesday, March 5, with Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed in the chair.

The meeting also approved a proposal in principle presented by the Chief Adviser’s Office to procuring the physical services under the DPM method for hosting the 'Bangladesh Investment Summit-2025' to be held in the country on April 7-10, 2025.

Advisers, and secretaries concerned attended the meeting.
