5 individuals, orgs to be honoured at Investment Summit
The much-anticipated four-day Investment Summit 2025is set to begin Monday, with the interim government honouring five distinguished individuals and organisations for their contributions to Bangladesh’s investment landscape.
The awards will be presented by Chief Adviser Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus during the summit.
This announcement was made during a press briefing held at the Foreign Service Academy on Bailey Road in Dhaka on Sunday (April 6).
Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun, Executive Director of the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), provided details about the awards and the upcoming event.
According to Ashik, the honorary awards will recognise a mix of domestic and foreign investors, as well as organisations making significant strides in various sectors:
- A local investor contributing to Bangladesh’s economic growth.
- A foreign investor fostering international partnerships and development.
- An organisation specialising in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives, underscoring Bangladesh’s commitment to sustainable development.
- A company recognised for its ground-breaking innovations, showcasing advancements in technology and industry.
- Additionally, a long-standing foreign investor who has been operating in Bangladesh for years will be awarded honorary citizenship alongside the honorary award, highlighting their enduring contribution to the nation’s progress.
