Remittances hit $2.34b in 28 days of October
The expatriate Bangladeshis sent around $2.34 billion or $233.90 crore in remittances in the first 28 days of October, the fourth month of the current fiscal year 2025-26.
The amount is $21 crore more than that of the same period of the last FY 2024-25 when the country received $212.90 crore remittance, said Mohammad Shahriar Siddique, assistant spokesperson of Bangladesh Bank.
Around $8.35 crore remittances came home on average everyday, the data showed.
The expatriates sent $992.50 crore from July 1 to October 28 in the current FY, which is $125.03 crore compared to the same period of the last FY when the country witnessed $867.20 crore in remittances.
