Polish apparel giant LPP SA eyes sourcing footprint in Bangladesh
Poland’s leading fashion retailer LPP SA has expressed strong interest in significantly expanding its apparel sourcing from Bangladesh, reaffirming the country’s position as its top global sourcing hub.
The commitment came during a meeting between LPP’s Procurement Director Joanna Sikorska and Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) President Mahmud Hasan Khan at the association’s Uttara office on Monday, December 2.
BGMEA Senior Vice President Enamul Haque Khan, Vice President (Finance) Mizanur Rahman, and Directors Shah Raeed Chowdhury, Md Hasib Uddin, Nafis-ud-Daulah, and Joarder Mohammad Hosne Qamar Alam were also present.
LPP signaled its intention to expand sourcing particularly in outerwear, heavy knits, men’s underwear and joggers, and expressed willingness to work closely with BGMEA to deepen cooperation.
The meeting focused on building long-term partnerships, ensuring supply-chain stability and transparency, and boosting the capacity of Bangladesh’s apparel sector.
Both sides also discussed creating direct export opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through inclusion in the RSC platform.
LPP currently procures apparel worth $770 million annually from Bangladesh and considers the country its largest sourcing destination.
“Bangladesh is a very important sourcing hub for us,” said Joanna Sikorska. “We want to further strengthen our business base here and continue working to maintain stability across our supply chain.” She also reiterated the brand’s commitment to sustainability and responsible business practices in the Bangladeshi garment sector.
BGMEA President Mahmud Hasan Khan welcomed LPP’s interest, urging the Polish brand to increase its sourcing volume further.
“LPP SA is a key buyer for Bangladesh’s garment industry. Enhancing sourcing and deepening long-term supplier relationships will benefit both sides,” he said, adding that the industry remains committed to meeting all compliance and global standards.
Both parties agreed to advance a long-term strategic partnership and build stronger ties between LPP and Bangladeshi suppliers.
