Gold prices hit new record, now bhori Tk 2.26 lakh

The Bangladesh Jeweler’s Association (BAJUS) has raised the prices of gold again, with 22 carat gold up by Tk 4,199 to Tk 2,26,282 per bhori (11.664 grams), the highest so far in the country’s history.

Besides, 21-carat gold increased by Tk 4,024 to Tk 2,16,017 a bhori, 18-carat by Tk 3,441 to Tk 1,85,166, and traditional method gold by Tk 2,916 to Tk 1,54,315, respectively.

The prices have been hiked following a rise in the prices of pure gold in the local market, BAJUS said in a statement on Tuesday, December 23.

The new prices will take effect from Wednesday, December 24.

Earlier on Monday, December 22, the price of 22-carat gold was hiked to a record high of Tk 2,22,083 per bhori.
