The opening ceremony of the Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) 2026 has been rescheduled to Saturday, January 3, following the death of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.

The event was originally slated to begin on Thursday, January 1, an Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) press release said on Tuesday, December 30.

However, the government has declared three days of state mourning to honour the passing of Khaleda Zia.

In light of the national mourning period, the EPB has adjusted the schedule for the prestigious trade event.

Officials have confirmed that invitation cards already distributed for the original opening ceremony will remain valid for the rescheduled date on January 3.
