Gold prices hit new record, now bhori Tk 2.32 lakh
The Bangladesh Jeweler’s Association (BAJUS) has raised the prices of gold again, with 22 carat gold up by Tk 4,199 to Tk 2,32,055 per bhori (11.664 grams), the highest so far in the country’s history.
Besides, 21-carat gold increased by Tk 3,965 to Tk 2,21,499 a bhori, 18-carat by Tk 3,441 to Tk 1,89,890, and traditional method gold by Tk 1,458 to Tk 1,56,881, respectively.
The prices have been hiked following a rise in the prices of pure gold in the local market, BAJUS said in a statement on Monday, January 12.
The new prices will take effect from Tuesday, January 13.
Earlier on January 11, the price of 22-carat gold was hiked by Tk 1,050 to Tk 2,27,856 per bhori.
