Gold prices jump by Tk 4,199 per bhori
Gold prices in Bangladesh have surged to an all-time high, with 22-carat gold rising by Tk 4,199 per bhori (11.664 grams) to Tk 238,879, according to the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS).
The decision was made at a meeting of the Bangladesh Jeweller's Association (BAJUS) Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring held on Monday, January 19.
A press release, signed by the committee’s chairman Dr Dewan Aminul Islam Shaheen, was issued in this regard.
BAJUS said the price hike follows an increase in the local rate of pure (tejabi) gold, and the revised rates will take effect from Tuesday, January 20.
“The adjustment reflects fluctuations in both local and international raw material markets,” BAJUS added.
