Gold price rises by Tk 3,266 per bhori day after decline

The price of gold in the country has increased by Tk 3,266 per bhori, just a day after it was reduced, with the rate of 22-carat gold now standing at Tk 268,214 per bhori (11.664 grams).

The new price took effect from 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 10, according to the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS)

The decision was made at a meeting of the association’s Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring, following a rise in the price of refined gold in the local market.

According to the decision, prices of other categories of gold have also been revised. The price of 21-carat gold has increased by Tk 3,149 to Tk 256,025 per bhori, while 18-carat gold has risen by Tk 2,683 to Tk 219,458 per bhori. Gold produced through the traditional method has increased by Tk 2,216, bringing the new price to Tk 179,159 per bhori.

A day earlier, BAJUS had reduced the price of 22-carat gold by Tk 3,266 per bhori, making the latest increase come within 24 hours of the previous adjustment.

Meanwhile, the price of silver has also been increased. The price of 22-carat silver has risen by Tk 175 to Tk 6,532 per bhori, while 21-carat silver, 18-carat silver, and traditional silver are now priced at Tk 6,240, Tk 5,365, and Tk 4,024 per bhori, respectively.
