Gold price drops by Tk 7,640 per bhori
The price of the highest-quality 22-carat gold in the country has dropped by Tk 7,640 per bhori (11.664 grams), bringing it to Tk 254,625 per bhori.
The revised rates came into effect from 10:00 am on Thursday, March 19, according to the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS).
A press release, signed by BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring chairman Dr Dewan Aminul Islam Shahin, was issued in this regard in the morning.
The new gold prices are as follows: 22-carat gold has fallen by Tk 7,640 to Tk 254,625 per bhori, 21-carat gold by Tk 7,349 to Tk 243,019 per bhori, 18-carat gold by Tk 6,299 to Tk 208,319 per bhori, and traditional gold by Tk 5,132 to Tk 169,653 per bhori.”
On 14 March, the prices were Tk 262,265 per bhori for 22-carat gold, Tk 250,368 per bhori for 21-carat gold, Tk 214,618 per bhori for 18-carat gold, and Tk 174,785 per bhori for traditional gold.
As of 9:59 am on Thursday, gold was being sold at the updated prices. Silver rates have also been reduced, with 22-carat silver down by Tk 350 to Tk 5,715 per bhori, 21-carat silver down by Tk 292 to Tk 5,482 per bhori, 18-carat silver down by Tk 291 to Tk 4,666 per bhori, and traditional silver down by Tk 233 to Tk 3,499 per bhori.
