Govt. increases 500 seats in medical colleges

The government has increased 500 seats in MBBS course of government medical colleges for 2018 academic year, BSS reported.

The decision for increasing seats in medical colleges was taken at a meeting with Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim in the chair, an official release said.

State Minister for Health and Family Welfare Zahid Maleq, Secretary of Health Education and Family Welfare Division ZM Saleh Uddin, Vice Chancellor of Chittagong Medical University Prof Dr Ismail Khan and President of Bangladesh Medical Association(BMA) Dr Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin, among others, attended the meeting.

There are 3,318 seats in MBBS courses in 31 government medical colleges in the country.
