The admission tests under a cluster-based system for the 2024-25 session will be held with the participation of at least 20 universities and a circular will soon be published.

Professor Dr Anwarul Azim Akanda, convener of the cluster admission test organising committee and vice-chancellor of Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University, said this on Tuesday, February 4.

After the assurance, the students who demonstrated in front of the University Grants Commission, UGC, building in Dhaka demanding the reinstatement of the cluster admission system, withdrew their protests.

Earlier this morning, the vice-chancellors of the universities under cluster system held the 32nd meeting of the cluster admission test organising committee at the IGC.

After the meeting, prof Anwarul said, “We are agreed to the demand of students and working towards this goal. Even though a few universities have withdrawn, at least 20 universities will participate in the cluster admission tests.”

Mentioning that the exam date has been fixed, he said another meeting will soon decide about publishing the circular of the tests.
