SSC results published, pass rate 68.45%
The results of this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations were published on Thursday.
This year, the average pass rate across the country’s 11 education boards stood at 68.45 percent. In comparison, last year’s average pass rate was 83.04 percent, indicating a significant decline.
The pass rate for female students this year was 71.03 percent, while the pass rate for male students was 65.88 percent. Accordingly, female students once again outperformed male students in the pass rate, marking the tenth consecutive year this trend has continued.
A total of 139,032 students across the 11 education boards achieved a GPA-5 this year. Last year, 182,129 students nationwide received a GPA-5, showing a considerable decrease this year.
The SSC and equivalent examinations began on April 10 and concluded on May 13. A total of 1,928,970 students registered for the exams, including 967,739 female students and 961,231 male students.
However, on the first day of the exam, 26,928 candidates were absent from 3,715 centres nationwide. The number of absentees increased in subsequent days. Overall, approximately 1.9 million students participated in the examinations.
