DU extends nomination collection deadlines for DUCSU, hall unions by a day

Election Commission for the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) elections has extended the deadline for nomination collection by one day for both the DUCSU and hall union elections.
The announcement was made in a press release issued on Monday, August 18, and signed by Dr Mohammad Jasim Uddin, Chief Returning Officer of the DUCSU elections.
The statement explained that due to the large number of students gathering to collect nomination papers, several halls and central offices were unable to complete the process within the original timeframe.
To ensure fair and equal opportunities for all candidates to exercise their democratic rights, the Election Commission has decided to extend the deadlines.
The deadline for submitting nomination papers for the hall union elections will now be 5:00pm on Tuesday, August 19, while the deadline for DUCSU nominations has been extended to 5:00pm on Wednesday, August 20.
The extension aims to accommodate logistical challenges and ensure a transparent and inclusive nomination process ahead of the upcoming student polls.
