Abidul votes, calls on students to exercise their rights

Abidul Islam Khan, a Chhatra Dal-backed candidate, urged students to exercise their voting rights in the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) elections. He cast his vote at the Udayan School & College polling centre on Tuesday morning.

After voting, he told reporters, “For a long time in the history of Dhaka University and Bangladesh, we have fought against the curtailment of voting rights. Today’s election is going to set a new example of democracy. No student should stay at home. Everyone should come to the polling centres and exercise their voting rights.”

Addressing the students further, he said, “After a long time, the doors of democracy are being opened. I hope the students will use their conscience to choose capable leadership.”
