Vote counting for Jahangirnagar University Central Students’ Union (JACSU) elections is still pending in four polling centers.

As of 12:30 pm on Friday (September 12), election officials had completed counting votes from 17 centers.

Election Commission member Dr. Lutful Elahi said, “Election officials are counting votes at two tables. Counting for four centers is still pending. Once those are done, the central union’s vote counting will begin. The final results of the election will be announced in the evening.”

Earlier, the counting of votes began around 10:15 pm on Thursday. The manual counting process is being displayed on LED screens. On the same day, voting for JACSU and hall unions started at 9:00 am. A total of 21 halls were used as polling centers, with 11,897 registered voters—6,115 male students and 5,728 female students.

However, citing irregularities and bias, the Chhatra Dal-backed panel boycotted the election before the voting ended. Later, four other panels also announced a boycott after the conclusion of the polling.
