‘Owned’ vocalist AK Ratul passes away

AK Ratul, the vocalist and bassist of the band ‘Owned’ and son of late actor Jashim, has passed away. He suffered a heart attack around 3:30 pm on Sunday while working out at a gym.

Siam Ibne Alam, the band’s lyricist, confirmed the news to the media. He stated that Ratul collapsed at a gym in Uttara. He was initially taken to Uttara Crescent Hospital and later transferred to Lubana Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.

Ratul and his band ‘Owned’ carved out a distinct identity in Bangladesh’s music industry. Following the release of their debut album ‘One’ in 2014 and their second album ‘Two’ in 2017, the band gained considerable popularity.

In addition to being a singer, Ratul was also a respected music producer in the rock scene, contributing to the production of several albums by popular bands.
