Model Meghna Alam released from jail

Model Meghna Alam has been released from the Kashimpur Women's Central Jail. She was freed at around 6:30 pm on Tuesday (April 29), confirmed Senior Jail Superintendent Mst. Kawalin Nahar.
According to prison sources, Meghna Alam had been detained under a 30-day detention order issued by the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs, effective from April 10. However, the order was later withdrawn by the division. Additionally, she was granted bail in a separate case filed with Dhanmondi Police Station, leading to her release.
Case documents state that Meghna Alam, Dewan Samir, and two to three unidentified individuals are alleged members of an organized fraud ring. They reportedly used attractive women to lure foreign diplomats and representatives working in Bangladesh, as well as wealthy local businessmen, into romantic relationships. The group would then allegedly blackmail the victims by threatening to defame them and extort money.
